Mukul – “mukul” is the Mayan word for “secret” – features 37 spacious accommodations, each with an ocean view, pool and private staff. Other resort amenities include Spa Mukul, with six private spa-treatment casitas; a beach club featuring dining and lounge areas and a swimming pool; and the 18-hole Guacalito Golf Course.

At the far side of a seemingly endless beach, a man lounges, smoking a cigar and sipping on Flor de Caña Rum. As he watches his fishing boat bob in the reflective bay, his wife wanders the coastline looking for shells with her daughter and young grandchild. His sons surf on the crystal clear waves shadowed by verdant green cliffs. All while his four friends finish up their round of golf beneath a troop of lazy howler monkeys.
