The drive from Liberia to the border typically takes between one to one and half hours, offering a smooth and tranquil journey with only one or two police checkpoints, ensuring a hassle-free experience.

Upon reaching the border area, you'll proceed to clear Costa Rican immigration, a process that usually takes between 30 to 60 minutes on a regular day. Your driver will assist in navigating through the Nicaragua entry line, where your documents will be swiftly checked. The distance to the main building is approximately 200 meters, and if preferred, a three-wheeled motorized vehicle (tuk-tuk) can be arranged in advance along with a baggage handler.

The main building hosts both Immigration and Customs processes, totaling about 30 to 60 minutes. The atmosphere is formal, air-conditioned, and there are no extensive lines or complications. While they may ask routine questions, we recommend minimizing the quantity of certain items such as electronics, drones, binoculars, and raw food, as Customs and Agriculture can be particular.

After completing the formalities, you will walk or take a tuk-tuk (200 meters) to the last document verification point, beyond which is the new waiting area housing Duty-Free Shops.

In this area, you'll meet your driver, who will then transport you to the resort. The overall process is not arduous, and we highly recommend utilizing a baggage handler to expedite the journey.
